Retainer Packages

What is a retainer?

A retainer is a contract between me and my client, to say I will work X hours a week as their Virtual Assistant, for an agreed rate.

The rate is cheaper than my standard hourly rate, because I have the security of knowing I have those guaranteed hours.

My client has the security of knowing they have access to that amount of my time.

How does it work?

I speak to my client and discuss the type of work required. We agree a number of hours, and a reduced rate for my time. My client would then sign a contract, and away we go.

I monitor my time, and if I find I am going over the agreed hours, I discuss with my client. Depending on predicted work for the following month, I either invoice the extra hours at the end of the month, or work less the following month.

If I find I am working less than the agreed amount of time, I would offer more time the following month.

I ask my clients to pay a month in advance.

How do I record MY time?

I use a web app where I have all my projects listed, and I literally hit stop and go as I stop and start work.

If the phone rings, or I need a cup of tea, I stop the clock!

What is the minimum number of hours you offer on a retainer basis?

The minimum number of hours on a retainer is 5 hours a week.

I can really get to know a business when I work on a retainer. I become an extended part of the team, and can work productively with a good understanding of the business and how it operates.

It offers clients peace of mind, as they have guaranteed access to my support.
